BUsy, busy, busy

Mon Jul 20, 2009, 10:02 PM
I'm going to be away for a while. I'm too busy right now and can't give the time and attention I need to DA. I need to focus on my life right now.

Best wishes to everyone!

Where does the time go????

Wed Jun 3, 2009, 12:49 AM
My life has gotten really busy and I feel like I'm just spinning! I've started to offload things because, well, I have to learn to say NO because I simply don't have time to do everything I'm committed to!

I haven't had much time to CREATE and dang that makes me crabby. Do you get like that? If I don't create something for a couple of days, I start feeling trapped, I don't know, confined in some way. I hate that feeling and my hubby hates it too because APPARENTLY I get a wee bit testy. LOL Poor fellow!

Well, I'm off to finish a Viking Knit bracelet. I took an online class from Beaducation.com and I am TOTALLY addicted to that technique. It's super relaxing and I can do it while I'm listening to an audio book or watching television.

I also took the one on Herringbone weave. I love the way that one looks when she does it, but mine is a mess. I really need to sit down and practice it.

That's it for now - I hope all is well with you!

Busy People Get More Done

Wed Apr 8, 2009, 10:13 PM
I've heard that saying a gadzillion times and I've never understood it until now.

Because of some life "issues" I have TONS of free time and I'm not getting diddly-squat done. It's really frustrating. I start out each day with my To-Do list (or without) and never seem to accomplish much of anything.

I have a luxury of time to do with as I please and I do nothing or I get lost in whatever I'm doing and suddenly realize I've been meandering for three hours (as in looking at art work on DA and the web today).

I've been creating, but I still haven't re-set up my store website [link] and I have a TON of stuff to set up on there!! I have articles to put on my blog - [link] and yet...nothing...

Maaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaan, I hope this is a phase that passes freakin' soon!

Touristy Stuff

Sun Mar 8, 2009, 2:35 PM
Terrace (that's the town I live in) has won the "Hockeyville Canada" title. Apparently, this is a big deal. I'm not a hockey person, but it's probably a good thing for our town - financially speaking anyway. I'm kind of hung up on the "Kraft" part of it and the large corporation that profits from contributing to the mal-nutrition of our kids and our society by providing largely, un-nutritious, low-nutrient density, high sugar, unsustainable, wastfully packaged garbage,er "food" products...etc. Ahem, okay, <stepping off soapbox>...I guess they are sponsoring a physical activity... We've been hard hit the past few years due to downturns in the softwood lumber industry and need a boost. I guess I can hope this is the boost to get the economy here moving again.

So, my hypocritical self says - do I pass on the opportunity to add to my income because of my beliefs by making some touristy items for that "event" or (and for the regular tourist season) or do I take a pass and stand by my principles... We'll see...who knows, I may get caught up in the spirit of it all.

I can't believe how much time some of touristy stuff usually takes, but it's fun in a way. Well, it's fun as long as what I'm doing doesn't turn into assembly-line type work. That sucks, but in a way, it is the bread and butter. I guess REAL jewellers have that aspect of their trade too...settings, resizings, etc. I suppose every job has its tedious aspect.

It'd be fun to just play for a living...play, play, play all the time. :-)

I'd better head over to :iconrockhounds: and see what's new!! Cheers!
