Terrace (that's the town I live in) has won the "Hockeyville Canada" title. Apparently, this is a big deal. I'm not a hockey person, but it's probably a good thing for our town - financially speaking anyway. I'm kind of hung up on the "Kraft" part of it and the large corporation that profits from contributing to the mal-nutrition of our kids and our society by providing largely, un-nutritious, low-nutrient density, high sugar, unsustainable, wastfully packaged garbage,er "food" products...etc. Ahem, okay, <stepping off soapbox>...I guess they are sponsoring a physical activity... We've been hard hit the past few years due to downturns in the softwood lumber industry and need a boost. I guess I can hope this is the boost to get the economy here moving again.
So, my hypocritical self says - do I pass on the opportunity to add to my income because of my beliefs by making some touristy items for that "event" or (and for the regular tourist season) or do I take a pass and stand by my principles... We'll see...who knows, I may get caught up in the spirit of it all.
I can't believe how much time some of touristy stuff usually takes, but it's fun in a way. Well, it's fun as long as what I'm doing doesn't turn into assembly-line type work. That sucks, but in a way, it is the bread and butter. I guess REAL jewellers have that aspect of their trade too...settings, resizings, etc. I suppose every job has its tedious aspect.
It'd be fun to just play for a living...play, play, play all the time.

I'd better head over to

and see what's new!! Cheers!
